    She topped her district in the 12th standard and went on to study medicine at Kilpauk Medical College, Chennai, on a scholarship. That was where medicine stopped being a career and became a responsibility: being trusted with someone's health, fear and hope.

    Finding her place in women's health

    She completed her Masters in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Institute of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Egmore. During those postgraduate years, fertility and reproductive medicine drew her in more and more.
